The NFCtron Awards aim to inspire all organizers to not be afraid and to embark on even the most ambitious challenges. Meet the winners of the historically first NFCtron Awards, which took place during the NFCtron Keynote evening.
Unique awards from Czech designers.
The award for the pilot edition of the NFCtron Awards was designed and made for us by the duo of Klára Janypková and Tomáš Kučera. These are unique glass awards inspired by meteorites and processed through a complex method of working with glass. Therefore, the awards had to be placed in a special form in the annealing furnace for several days to obtain the correct shape, and then the glass cooled down without cracking.
The entire creation process, from selecting the right colors at the glassworks in Světlá nad Sázavou, through casting, cooling, grinding, to final sandblasting in the Vysočina region, took 29 days.
In the category of Sustainable Festival of the Year 2023, Rock for People wins.
The theme of sustainability is increasingly important at festivals, and therefore the historically first NFCtron Awards prize was related to ecology and sustainable festivals. We chose Komercní banka as the presenting partner, which supports or seeks ways to reduce the impact of human activity on the environment.
In this category, the Rock for People festival by Ameba Production won, mainly for its repeated implementation of hydrogen and solar stages, support for electromobility, and the use of more efficient lighting in the area. The award was presented by Kristýna Jelínková from KB, and the festival director, Michal Thomes, accepted the award on behalf of the organizers.
The most interesting festival innovation of 2023 is card payments at the Prima FRESH Festival's series of gastronomic events.
Technological innovations are pushing festivals forward, and in the next category, our goal was to highlight interesting projects that posed a challenge for organizers in their implementation. Mastercard is the technological partner of NFCtron, and they were particularly interested in this category, so a Mastercard representative presented the award and announced the winner.
The most interesting festival innovation of 2023 became the series of gastronomic events Prima FRESH Festival for introducing card payments exclusively through the Tap on Phone solution, which was used by almost 40,000 visitors. Martin Dolejš, Director, Business Development CZ&SK at Mastercard, presented the award. The owner of Pigs Production and the main organizer of the event, Petr Jirásek, accepted the award on behalf of the organizers.
The Production Team of the Year becomes Beatworx.
Without dedication, communication, and good cooperation, quality events could not be created. In the Production Team or Person of the Year 2023 category, we evaluated communication with suppliers, organization within the team before and during the event. Plzeňský Prazdroj helped us present the award in this category, as they are an integral part of most Czech and Slovak events.
The award in this category for 2024 went to Beatworx, organizer of festivals such as Let It Roll or Frontline. Jan Hájíček from Plzeňský Prazdroj presented the award, and Marek Vohralík, who invited additional members of the Beatworx team on stage, accepted it on behalf of Beatworx.
The event Demolition Derby received the most votes for courage.
We left the last category of the first NFCtron Awards to be announced by our Chairman of the Board NFCtron Pay Libor Němeček. Courage is very close to NFCtron, and it is an important value in the development and delivery of our services to the market.
In the category of Brave Festival of the Year 2023, the Demolition Derby event by Demolition Race Company won for its completely new type of event that also involves the connection of communities with influencers. Jan Strach and his team accepted the award.
We see NFCtron Awards as a celebration of all organizers, their big and small stories. In April, we will announce the categories for the next edition of the NFCtron Awards so that we can involve event attendees, vendors, or directly selected organizers and partners in the voting process.
